Assorted rings.

Well, I guess its better if I learn how to use this blog, therefore I am starting by posting a picture of an assortment of rings that I made to take with me to a jewelry show in Memphis. The show was last February and was held at the Cook Convention Center. I was able to meet a few people that were selling their products to the visiting customers.

I had a good experience in that city, people were very open to talk about me producing some of their lines, in fact, I have already made some small runs for two companies, and need to make a bigger order in January.

The rings in the picture are Either 14 or 18 carat. The stones are diamonds, citrines, zircons, and corn flower blue sapphires (my favorite stone).

My first blog posting: The start of my path into the jewelry world

This blog is not about me, it is about my jewelry business and the pieces I get to make for customers in search for that unique creation in a precious metal.

Have to say that I was started in the jewelry business back in 2004 by chance. I met a jewelry designer from New Orleans while I was attending school to get my MBA, we talked about manufacturing possibilities in Guatemala, to take advantage of the high quality hand labor of the jewelry artisans, and to be able to manufacture a differentiated product other than the stuff you can get massively made in Mexico or Thailand. In other words, selected, small almost custom made runs of pieces designed by people passionate about the industry.

As of now, I am working with gold, silver, precious, and semi precious stones. I am making for a handful of designers that create their signature items, and either sell them to retail customers of through other high end vendors.

This blog will focus right now in the pieces that I make for customers that order pieces for themselves or to be given as an especial gift. I have my own website that is geared towards the wholesale customers that I currently have, or for potential and future customers.
